In 2006 I helped document a class/program at UTS School of Architecture titled Urban Islands. It involved students creating large scale installations exploring the nature of ‘space making’.
It took place at Cockatoo Island – an island in Sydney Harbour which has had many lives: a meeting place for first peoples; a convict penal establishment; a reformatory school for girls; and an Australian Naval shipyard. It’s an amazing location to visit and I really enjoyed photographing around it.
